These precise postural exercises, known as ELDOA, are designed to strengthen the fascia (connective tissue) around each of the 24 vertebrae in the spinal column.
Over time the human spine compresses due to gravity and a weakening of the muscles around the stack of backbones, called vertebrae. This compression causes poor posture, pain, bulging and herniated discs, numbness, tingling, weakness, stiffness among other things such as arthritis and neurological conditions.
ELDOA exercises are highly effective solutions to these conditions.
ELDOA, designed by French osteopath Guy VOYER DO, “creates space” between the vertebrae. As a result there is an improvement in posture, lessening or complete erasure of pain, reduced pressure on inter-vertebral discs (relief from bulges, herniation’s, numbness, tingling, and weakness) and improvement in joint mechanics (range of motion).
Added benefits of the ELDOA exercises include: increased blood flow, spinal disc re-hydration, increased muscle tone and awareness, metabolic and hormonal balance, normalization of the myofascial tensions, and an increased sense of well-being.
