Her plans were to continue her education at a Physical Therapy School when an internship during her senior year caused her to re-evaluate her career path. Her mentor was a Physical Therapist whom also held a Massage Therapy license. Ashly found that those patients who received massage therapy along with their PT care recovered at a faster rate and with less pain. A few months later, Ashly found herself enrolling at Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Therapeutic Massage School in Charlotte, NC. Southeastern specialized in Neuromuscular and Swedish modalities. Ashly graduated from Southeastern in 2004.

Ashly is proficient in NMT, deep tissue, Swedish and TMJ modalities. In 2010, she was intrigued by a new technique that allows very deep work without having to use the sharper edges of elbows and forearms. Ashly completed the first level of Ashiatsu in 2011. Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique using gravitational forces to provide a deep tissue massage that creates a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage. It also provides relaxation and stimulation to the lymphatic system.

Outside of working as a massage therapist, Ashly i very active with outdoor activities. She enjoys skiing, hiking, kayaking, camping, running and is on a women’s hockey team. All of these activities allow Ashly to understand and treat injuries that occur with having fun and playing hard.
